Hiking: Mount Timpanogos

Not going to lie, this hike was one of the hardest things I have ever done. E v e r.
But it was so worth it.

Here are some of the facts:

  • Total Elevation: 11,695 ft
  • Distance: 16 miles round trip
  • Water Consumption: 7 bottles
  • Start time: 5 am
  • Mountain View from the summit: totally worth it.

Annnnnd now for a TON of pictures....

(Oh and I went with the Jubecks and a few of their family members! Super fun group!)

The Wests Make a Pit Stop

These crazies made a cross-country trip and were kind enough to stop by on their way south and see me! I'm so glad they did! And I'm super excited to go visit them in just a couple weeks!!

We had an awesome dinner at The Black Sheep Cafe in downtown Provo. It was THE BOMB.

Hiking: Bridal Veil Falls

One of the first hikes I went on when I got to Utah was Bridal Veil Falls! I got to go with Jubecks and it was super fun. And just beautiful!

Faith, Diligence, and Jesus Christ

As I was beginning to study my scriptures tonight, I pulled up LDS.org to find a talk I had recently read. Front and center on the home page was the link to this video

(Don't just read past that link. Watch it. A.S.A.P.)

What a pure, simple, and profound testimony from President Eyring, a apostle and servant of the Lord. I love the quote that follows too:

"I bear testimony that Jesus is the living Christ,
whose Atonement makes it possible for us to be purified and
so be worthy of the companionship of the Holy Ghost.

"I testify that with our faith and diligence,
 we can one hay here the words that will bring us joy
'Well done, thou good and faithful servant.'"

I know that the Savior lives. He loves each and every one of us so perfectly and so completely. He understands our burdens, our worries, and our shortcomings. He can lift us. He can heal us. Because he performed the ultimate sacrifice, the Atonement, he knows how we feel and he knows how to succor us.

What a blessing it is to know these truths. The peace that comes from this can be found know where else. As it says in D&C 19:23,

"Learn of me, and listen to my words;
walk in the meekness of my Spirit,
 and you shall have peace in me."

As we strive to come closer to the Savior, we can have the joy and peace that comes from doing so. We cannot make it alone, but we never have to be alone. I love the Savior and I love this gospel.

More updates and college excitement coming soon. :)

Graduation Re{CAP}

I guess it's understood that because I'm now at BYU, I finally did graduate from High School....?! I did. It happened. And here are the pictures to prove it.

Road Trippin'

On my way to BYU, Momma and I made a few stops and had some really good times. I thought I'd share a few of them here!

And so the adventure begins...!
