Hiking: The Y

BYU is in a bowl.
And the walls of said bowl are made of mountains.
It is (still) quite a shock for this Florida girl to wake up and see this every morning.

Anyways.....
The mountain directly East of campus has been named 'Y' mountain because, well, there is a 'Y' on it. Looks like this:

Yes. Those black dots are people.

It is seriously huge.
And the thing to do around here is "hike the 'Y'". Aka a vertical, one mile hike. Way fun.

And I did it.

With three of my roommates.

At 9 o'clock at night.

Wayyyy fun!!!

It was a gorgeous night and Heather has a convertible so we had a little bit of fun ;).

This is the view from halfway up! We got there just as the sun was going down and it was beautiful!

I mean just look at that purple sky!! (And try to ignore my super reflective/obnoxious leggings!)

This is the view from sitting on top of the Y. You can see all of the valley all lit up.

There's a little pano action for ya! Seriously gorgeous. The pictures don't do a justice!

Annnnnnd one more :)

Next time I go I'd like to hike up in the evening and watch the sun set from the top! (We pulled in the parking lot just before the sun was completely down, so it was mostly dark the entire hike.)
