Because He Lives - Easter 2015

Easter. It's one of those holidays that sneaks up on you!

For most people, childhood Easters are memories filled with white fluffy bunnies, colorful eggs stuffed with delicious candy, and the long-awaited Easter dinner. Girls plan their Easter outfits, complete with pretty pastel dresses and shining white shoes, while the boys make their final strategies for the Egg hunt. For me, these are some of my fondest holiday memories!

Unfortunately, the main reason for this beloved holiday is sometimes suffocated behind the candy and eggs.

I am grateful to have my childhood memories also be filled with an amazing message.

The wonderful, peace-filled message of the Savior and His Atonement.

Every Easter, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints releases a short (but oh-so powerful!) video on the Savior.
I am completely amazed at the simplicity of the message this year's video holds.

It is comforting. It is powerful. It is the message of the Savior's resurrection.

Please take a minute and watch it!!  <<Click it. Right there. Do it. You won't be disappointed!

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Not just any chocolate chip cookies...
The B E S T chocolate chip cookies you ever did eat!

Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration on my part. Pretty much all chocolate chip cookies are the best.
But I've made A LOT of chocolate chip cookies in my short lifetime, from A LOT of different recipes, searching high and low for the one.

Spring Break 2015

//Public Service Announcement// This is going to be a verrryyy long post. Oops. Sorry.

One of the greatest things about where we live is the fact that we can have views like this pretty much any time of the year....

I'll be right here....all week long.

Seriously. This spot on the beach cost me $1... aka the bridge toll.

I think this is why Spring Break is my favorite school break! The saying is cheesy and over-used, but still true: "I live where you vacation!"

Counting Down

Graduation is in 68 days.

Whaaaaaat?!?!

What in the world? How it time moving so quickly?
(....yet so slowly.)

I have officially accepted my admission to BYU,  and have begun the extremely scary exciting process of registering for classes, applying for housing, and taking a lot of
deep breaths.

Because Utah is far away. Like 2000 miles away. (Wow. That's a lot.)

From: Provo, UT To: Gulf Breeze, FL

The fact that I will be packing up my room, loading up the car, and driving cross country with my mom just a short month after that is terrifying, but I am more than excited for the new experiences, people, and places coming my way!

Beach Day

Today was absolutely gorgeous.

FINALLY.

It has been rainy + cold + foggy for what feels like forever.
But the sun was shining,
the temperature warmed up (just enough),
and there was not a single cloud in the sky.

So what did that mean?
Obviously, it meant rushing to get home from work,
changing into something comfy,
getting into the car as quickly as possible,
driving fast (just slightly over the speed limit),
and GETTING TO THE BEACH.

(And dragging your lovely Momma with you.
Because what's a beautiful day worth if you don't share it??)

But seriously, I am so grateful to live where I live.
I mean...

Just look at this!!
It does not get much better.

It wasn't warm enough to swim or anything.
In fact it was just a little chilly.

BUT spring fever took over...

(p.s. This is the. best. feeling in the. entire. world. Or at least my favorite!)

Such a good day. I love the satisfaction that comes from knowing that I was able to enjoy the little things. I had such a good time just walking on the beach, talking with my mom, and looking at the seashells. No matter how many times I go, this view will never get old.
