Cosenza

Week 19

(Written June 13, 2016)

Hello everyone!

Mamma mia where do I even begin with this week?! So much has happened
and so many miracles have been had. This week's email will be short
though haha because it's been a little bit crazy of PDay also haha.
Tuesday was Zone Conference at Taranto. Conference was so great! I
love all of the missionaries in our zone so much.
After that, We were supposed to catch the two thirty bus that
afternoon to head home to Cosenza, but the bus never showed
up....(Apparently if no one buys a ticket in advance, it doesn't come
to the stop! But we had always bought them straight on the bus, so we
had no idea!)
By the time we figured that out...it was already almost 4. The next
bus wasn't until 8! Because the missionaries live so far from the
station, it made more sense to wait there than to try and go do
anything else.
So we (Sorella CaliĆ², Anziano Stanley, and Anziano Nessen) waited.
For four hours.
At the bus stop.
And then we didn't get home until 11:40. Wayyyyyy past our bedtime. ;)
It was an interesting adventure to say in the least.

And from there the week just got even crazier! We have two new people
we have begun teaching this week and one of them is named Mirella. It was
kind of a miracle how we met her! She is so sweet and came to church
with us this Sunday. I'm so excited to see how this week goes with
her!

This Sunday we had District Conference (like Stake Conference but way
way smaller haha) and it was super good! A little bittersweet because
it was the last time we will see President and Sorella Waddoups before
they go home at the end of this month. The talks were wonderful
however, and it was so good to be all together with all the members in
our district! We had people here from Catanzaro, Crotone, Reggio
Calabria, and Cosenza. It was amazing to see us all come together. In
this area we may be small as a church, but we are strong.

This week I want to share a part of a scripture form the Book of
Mormon, in 3 Nephi 27:27. In this verse Christ is speaking. It says,
"Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you,
even as I am."

I'd like bear my testimony that I know that Christ lives. He is our
perfect example. While life is hard and there are always challenges to
face, if we choose to follow Christ, we cannot go wrong. Everyday we
need to learn of him and seek to follow his teachings. By following
his gospel, we will be able to return home to our Heavenly Father and
receive all the blessings that he wants to give us. The peace and the
comfort that I have received from this is the reason I am here in
Italy sharing (to the best of my ability!) the glorious news of the
gospel.

Thank you for the prayers and the support you give me every week. I'm
so grateful for you all!

Sending love,
Sorella Carver
